Upholstery Fabricator

Department: 305 Indirect Labor
Location: Cleveland, OH

Flexjet is growing our Interiors Department. Currently, we are hiring Upholstery Fabricators to join our team. We offer industry leading benefits, room for growth and excellent pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aircraft upholstery requirements such as but not limited to: pattern making, sewing, foam fabrication and application on all components
  • Interpret blueprints, completion drawings, company standards, work instructions
  • Perform necessary calculations using shop math based on required tooling, detailed parts, assemblies, and installations.
  • Perform sewing and upholstery operations in accordance with applicable FAA regulations.
  • Disassemble and reassemble vendor passenger seats and divans in accordance with the guidelines of vendor component maintenance manuals.
  • Perform proper maintenance practices in accordance with Constant Aviation standards, such as: proper glue application, adhesive bonding, hardware, and rivet installation
  • Correct handling and use of all required tools specific to the current job assignment.
  • Correct handling and use of all required chemicals and adhesives related to the current job assignment, including general knowledge and ability to retrieve data from the MSDS safety books.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five (5) years aircraft upholstery experience
  • Able to set up and operate all standard equipment related to upholstery.
  • Able to work from documentation such as 3D models, blueprints, drawings, aircraft specifications, preparation packages, etc.
  • Must not be allergic to chemical, solvents, paints, adhesives, natural or manmade materials, fabrics, or feathers.
  • Able to distinguish colors and align intricate or elaborate designs in fabrics
  • Able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high-cost products with a minimum of rework.
  • Able to wear protective equipment for extended periods of time including, particle masks, goggles, assorted gloves, head bonnets, and disposable protective suits.
  • Able to stock and remove materials from bins above storage level (not exceeding OSHA standards).
  • Able to climb in and out of aircraft and perform work in tight or confined places and unusual positions
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and in unusual positions, i.e. various aircraft
