Benefits Coordinator

Department: 815 Human Resources
Location: Cleveland, OH

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefits, ensuring accuracy in data entry, and providing essential support to employees regarding benefits-related inquiries. This role plays a key part in managing employee requests, processing updates, and ensuring compliance with benefits policies and regulations. The Benefits Coordinator will work closely with Benefits Specialists to assist with various tasks, including new hire benefits enrollment, medical support orders, and other benefits-related processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management & Entry:
    • Process and maintain accurate employee benefits records in HR systems.
    • Update employee information, including address changes and contact updates.
    • Ensure timely and accurate entry of benefits elections, terminations, and changes.
  • Employee Support & Request Management:
    • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, providing clear and timely assistance.
    • Process updates to dependents, beneficiaries, and other contact information.
    • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Medical Support Orders & Compliance:
    • Review and process medical support orders in accordance with legal and company guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • New Hire Benefits Process:
    • Support new hire benefits orientation by providing necessary materials and guidance.
  • Collaboration & General Support:
    • Work closely with Benefits Specialists to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
    • Assist in audits, reporting, and benefits-related communications.
    • Provide backup support for other benefits-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-3 years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (experience with UKG Pro is a plus).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of benefits regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA, is preferred.
