DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create electronic documents using word processing and desktop publishing tools
Research and collect data to write aircraft flight manual supplements, weight and balance supplement manuals, installation manuals, maintenance manuals, and/or service documents
Communicate with the Design Engineers regarding product specifications/development
Designs and coordinates material and structural repairs
Research airframe technical characteristics to accurately document functions and features of specific aviation products
Work in a team environment within the Technical Publications area to constantly improve the archival, storage and documentation process
Edit copy for content organization, style, audience and format consistency
Performs other duties as assigned
At least two (2) years of experience as a Technical Writer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
Associates degree or higher in relevant discipline from an accredited college or university
Two (2) additional years of Technical Writer experience may be substituted for an Associates degree
Ability to understand basic editing concepts and write technical copies for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity
Demonstrated experience preparing and maintaining documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
