Fleet Technical Manager- Avionics Cabin Management System

Department: 315 Production Management
Location: Cleveland, OH

Flexjet is hiring a Fleet Technical Manager specializing in Avionics with an emphasis on Cabin Management Systems (CMS) to join our maintenance organization at Flexjet's facility in Cleveland, Ohio. The selected candidate will primarily focus on Gulfstream G450/500/650/700, Challenger 300/350/3500, and Embraer Phenom 300, Praetor 500/600 aircraft. The key responsibilities include managing fleet reliability and daily dispatch operations, offering troubleshooting and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery support to the maintenance control center, and collaborating with fleet OEM technical support to address and enhance fleet reliability issues.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations to various support groups of the control center when requested.
  • Oversee coordination of maintenance activities for scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance as well as follow-up procedures for delays and cancellations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in aircraft availability, dispatch reliability, operating costs, and owner satisfaction with the Flexjet Technical Working Group process.
  • Work in cross-functional environment to develop immediate and cost-effective solutions to operational problems.
  • Assist maintenance providers and maintenance coordinators in troubleshooting complex aircraft avionic maintenance issues.
  • Reviews inspection program and service bulletins issued by OEM’s.
  • Reports to the Flexjet Manager of Fleet Reliability.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license required or a proven avionics background.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is desired; and/or 5 years of experience in an aviation environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience on company specific fleet avionics preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Starlink, Gogo, ViaSat and GogoL5 systems is required.
  • Must have working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • General and Business Aviation experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows and MS Office programs.
  • Must be familiar with CAMP maintenance program
  • Ability to function effectively individually or as a team member.
  • Successful candidate will be highly motivated individual and a self-starter who works effectively under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
