Aircraft Support Specialist

Department: 215 Crew Services
Location: Cleveland, OH

POSITION SUMMARY

The Aircraft Support Specialist is responsible for crew uniforms, maintaining the stock locker network, stocking, and purchasing of products for stock lockers. Working along the Technical Publications department shipping required documentation to aircraft domestically and internationally; procuring essential aircraft tableware; stocking new and existing aircraft.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Aircraft Support Specialist role will provide direct support to the following departments and will reside in Cleveland, Ohio.

  • Owner Services
  • Owner Services Support Team
  • Sales
  • Executive Assistants

This role will serve the purpose of assisting in the daily tasks directly supporting Flexjet aircraft, crewmembers, cabin servers, and facility needs:

Flight Department Support

  • Crewmember and cabin server uniforms
    • Uniform procurement
    • Uniform fittings during new hire orientation
    • Uniform materials management/inventory/storage
    • Shipping of uniform goods to/from crewmembers and cabin servers
    • Coordination, logistics, and tracking of assigned goods to/from crewmembers and cabin servers
  • Aircraft technology and publications support
    • Aircraft software updates and subscription management
    • Aircraft technology update assistance and tracking
    • Aircraft service equipment management
  • Aircraft amenity support
    • In-flight entertainment management
    • Cabin amenities management
    • Aircraft stock materials management
  • Facility product support
    • Local shopping and procurement of various facility products and supplies
    • Local shopping of stock locker and aircraft stock products
    • Executive level supplies management
  • Vendor and department communications and correspondence
    • Quality assurance of Flexjet product vendors to ensure that procurement of materials is executed appropriately.
    • Daily Maintenance department inquiries and correspondence to ensure aircraft flight-ready status.
    • Ad-hoc inquiries from the Sales Department and Executive Assistants for on-site needs

Cleveland Stock Locker Management

  • Stock product and aircraft amenity procurement
  • Stock product and aircraft amenity logistics and organization
  • Communications with contracted vendors regarding product movement and shipping
  • Directly intercept shipments and distribute to the appropriate lockers, storage locations and aircraft

Aircraft Stocking

  • Rotation and materials movement directly to/from facilities to aircraft
  • Physically stocking new and current Flexjet aircraft
  • Communications with Operations regarding logistics and timelines of new aircraft deliveries
  • Preparing aircraft for owner-ready flight status
  • Coordinate with Procurement staff regarding logistics, availability, and shipping timelines of new aircraft products

Administrative Functions

  • Knowledge of bulk product procurement methodology and aviation business etiquette
  • Communications with internal and external vendors and customers regarding aircraft and facility products
  • Reporting capabilities, analysis and presentation production for potential new products and existing product consumption
  • Expense report and product tracking
  • Ad-hoc requests from management in relation to aircraft stock and cabin amenities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 2-4 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Associates Degree from an accredited institution and/or a minimum of 2 consecutive years of experience within a luxury customer service working environment is a must.
  • Aviation industry knowledge and/or direct experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the private transportation industry is preferred.
  • Luxury and gourmet consumer product familiarity and/or experience recommended.
  • Materials management and high-volume shipping experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must possess the legal right to work in the United States
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications, with experience in Excel.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, able to work effectively with others.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Possess a systematic understanding of manual and document control.
  • Adapt to and endure immeasurable changes regarding aircraft schedules, deliveries, status alterations and locations, while always maintaining a calm and professional caliber.
  • Work in a moderate / aggressive physically active environment with the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds at any time.
  • Work in an office environment simultaneous to completing physical tasks.
  • Type a minimum of 60 words per minute.
  • Complete knowledge and navigation abilities of Microsoft Office (most current versions) products and software
  • Technology savvy to current and modern means of computer and telephone equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication flexibility within a diverse group of individuals and operating levels of Flexjet and constituents
  • Positive attitude and the ability to adapt to change is a must.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical demands may require a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (i.e., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) along with various office equipment.
  • Physical demands may include walking as much as 10k steps a day, carrying various boxes and packages, reaching, standing, and stooping.
  • Working in confined areas while stocking aircraft.
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds.
